This Exit Only
directed by: Scott Herriott

What do a funeral home with a miniature golf course in the basement, a Stonehenge replica made entirely of old refrigerators and a place where you can rent a cave for $5 a night have in common? Besides a need for more visitors, they're all featured (along with 14 other unique roadside attractions) in "This Exit Only", Scott Herriott's latest offbeat documentary. This is Scott's fourth documentary, following his success with "Walk" (about those intrepid/insane souls who walk from Mexico to Canada via the Pacific Crest Trail) which was an official selection of the Greenwich, Malibu and Olympia Film festivals (2004). Scott has hosted, reported and produced for the likes of PBS, TechTV and CNN's "Newsnight with Aaron Brown". His other documentaries deal with his favorite subject - Bigfoot ("Squatching" and "Journey Toward Squatchdom" - both available at www.squatching.com.)

Space Age
starring: Patrick Stewart

Space is no longer a new frontier. It's a vital part of our world. The 6 hour Space Age series hosted by Patrick Stewart takes a close-up view of that new world and tells the story of how it has changed our lives. From the dream driven hopes of the early rocket pioneers to the far future, Space Age documents the latest advances in the age-old quest to go further, see deeper, and find out more. State-of-the-art special effects, "pre-creations" of future space missions, and worldwide location filming give each fascinating program in the series an eye-opening view of the way space exploration has revolutionized how we see ourselves, our planet, and the universe beyond.

South - Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance Expedition
starring: Ernest Shackleton, Frank Worsley, J. Stenhouse, L. Hussey, Dr. McIlroy
directed by: Frank Hurley

South is the extraordinary chronicle of one of history's greatest epics of courage and leadership. In 1914, Sir Ernest Shackleton embarked on an expedition to cross Antarctica via the South Pole. Before it could reach shore, the explorer's ship, Endurance, was trapped in an ice pack, held frozen in a sea of icebergs for eight months and finally crushed. After five months adrift on ice floes, the crew embarked on a perilous sea voyage to rocky, windswept Elephant Island. From there, Shackleton led five of his men on a miraculous 850-mile journey across unimaginably dangerous seas in a small open boat to get help from a whaling station in South Georgia. The explorer made three failed rescue attempts for the rest of the crew before finally succeeding--nearly two years after first setting sail. Frank Hurley, a veteran cinematographer and member of the Endurance crew, shot this beautiful and moving film as their incredible adventure unfolded.

The Soul Of India
starring: Rick Ray
directed by: Rick Ray

India defies every attempt at definition. You'd run out of ink, or paint or videotape before you'd even begun to find her, let alone capture her. Take the landscape. There are jungles straight out of Rudyard Kipling, deserts to make Lawrence of Arabia weep with envy, the highest mountains in the world, tropical beaches, fading colonial hill stations, crowded cities. Indians are as varied as their landscapes. More than one billion people. Thousands of languages. Almost every religion known to man. And somehow all of it mixed into one vast, raucous and unruly democracy. To make his brand new film The Soul Of India, travel filmmaker Rick Ray spent 4 months in India, braving heat, cold, altitude, earthquakes and riots to patch together a unique and personal tapestry of this nearly indescribable country. We will visit familiar sites like the Taj Mahal, the palaces and forts of Rajasthan, the Himalayas and the River Ganges. We will also peer into an India that few visitors see - a land of villages and inner cities, a country in which reside the hopes and dreams of 1/6th of the earth's population. Our tour will take us to India s bustling cities of Bombay, New Delhi and Calcutta. We will also visit quiet and tranquil landscapes in South India and in the Himalayas. We ll explore the majesty of legendary cities like Varanasi, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaiselmer. The majesty and mystery of South India will come alive with trips to kerala s famous Backwaters, silk factories, Cochin, Madurai and so much more. We will visit maharaja palaces, visit a camel festival, ride on the luxury Palace On Wheels, and see sides of the Taj Mahal that few ever explore. All of India s religions will be explained in depth, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, the Jain faith and the Sikh faith. We ll learn how political events have shaped the landscape and how the influence of the British empire brought ideas and concepts still deeply rooted in the Indian psyche today. We ll explore concepts such as the caste system, democracy, marriage, privacy, life and death and see how they differ from our preconceptions in the West. India is a challenge to the senses, to the mind and to everything we in America take for granted. If you come to terms with her nearly infinite diversity, her stunning vitality and her in-your-face energy, you will learn a great deal about yourself. In the process, you will learn a great deal about the rest of humanity. Once you have glimpsed the kaleidoscope of color, the encyclopedia of experience that is India, you'll probably agree that you have discovered the most colorful and fascinating country on earth.
